I don't know if their is a rubbermaid container to hold an adult blood when maxed out.Black bloods might be able to live in one.I currently run the 39 1/2" x 19 3/4" x 7" for my bloods, and the big bloods get the 4'x2'x14" cage.

Sweeeet! I've been waiting for the right time to build my first cage. I already have some good plans ive seen at the reptile shop I go to, but what type of wood should i use? Thanks again.

I use 3/4" and I've used 5/8" melamine. It's that particle board with the white laminate. When you get everything cut out make sure you buy some contact paper, you know that sticky paper with designs you put in you cabinet and drawers and pre do all walls of the inside of the cage. Then put it all together and caulk in all corners, I like to use Lexell clear silicone caulk, its the best.Any exposed edges will result in swelling and splitting of your wood over time.I'm still trying to perfect this from not happening as you know you need higher humidity and where the water runs off the front of your plexiglass door or glass door water still gets in my wood.I'm letting it dry out and I'll get it this time.Good luck, Ethan

I actually found some rubbermaids that are the correct size awhile ago. Unfortunately I only bought two. They are about 4'x2'x10" and were labeled as christmas wrap containers. I got them just after christmas on sale for like $4!! They had them again this year but I was waiting til after christmas and apparently none were left It might be possible to order them from somewhere online tho? I've also thought about using some of those tall rubbermaid totes and just cutting them down short, bt they dont come in clear.. but I might just do that. They also have some others that are for under bed storage that might work, but there not very tall and they have wheels. You can take the wheels out and melt the plasic somewhat straight with a heat gun tho... ok sorry I'v been contemplating building an adult blood rack with rubbermaids for quite some time.

That sucks about the wrapping paper storage rubbermaids. I went out looking today and the biggest see through containers i could find were very similar in size to the ones I already have. I saw the bigger variety but they were all thick dark colored plastic that wouldnt allow any light to pass through. Looks like Im gonna try my luck at building my own. I forgot to ask fishkiller, how do u heat a melamine cage.

Angel finally talked me into getting a radient heat panel. It's been the best heat source and it doesn't dry out the humidity so much.Kind of expensive compared to using heat tape on rubbermaids, but it is energy sufficient and doesn't burn your animal, can't go wrong.I use the pro product radient heat panel.Helix I think also makes one also.
