Just a Few Questions

I've had Trixie Since Wednesday, and she still is extremely hyper when I pick her up, like trying to jump out of my hands all the time. She's not even a year old yet, and I know she's still getting settled in. Is there anything I can do to make her a little more calm?

And is it rare for geckos not to like wax worms? I bought them in bulk after hearing that they were like a delicacy. I was just going to use them as a treat every once in a while, but Trixie doesn't seem very interested. I do know she has only been fed crickets, would that make her only like crickets?

most likely the lil gal is still stressing about the move so try to avoid handling her too much. just let her settle in and try to keep the area around her tank kinda peaceful (no loud music, etc). as for the waxworms, their great as a treat, but dont have tons of nutritional value so its no biggy that she doesnt really want them (cept that now you have a ton of worms on your hands). her appetite may also be significantly reduced because of the recent move.

Try leaving her alone for a while..... You are even disregarding your own knowledge.... You said yourself she is still settling in..... She will calm down by her self at her own pace..... Hands off for a while..... OK???

First off, I agree, handling does not sound like the best idea right now. I just wanted to add that I do have a few gex that are not so keen on the waxworms. Like 2 out of ten. But this is it... esp. for juvies, if they have only ever been offered crix, it may take some "mental click" to recognize a mealworm or waxworm as the tasty morsel it is. Most eventually come around and take a taste. Might take a year though.
