How long can a Ball go between pre-lay shed and egg laying?

steelersdiehard Mar 05, 2005 10:34 AM

My female Ball is 35 days from pre-lay shed today 2-5-05. I am getting concerned because most of the articles I have read say 30 days. Please respond so I know how long I should wait before be concerned (even more).

Thanks for yur help.

Hi there,

The average is about 30 days but I had a friend's ball go 45 days. Alot depends on the individual animal and the temps at which it has been kept.

How do you know the shed was a pre-lay shed?

Good luck!

Christy

I observed ovulation prior to shed.

How long after ovulation did she shed? It should be around 50 days after ovulation when the eggs are laid.
