Temp question

chubbyfrogmom Mar 05, 2005 10:48 AM

I just bought a UTH for my Leo since the consenses seems to be that belly heat is best. Since installing it though yhe temp is reading a constant 95F. Is this to warm? If so what is the best way to reduce the heat? Thank you in advance for any help.

hey...UTH's are a great way to warm a portion of your leo's tank, but 95 may be slightly too warm. the optimal belly temp for a leo runs from about 89-92 degrees. the best way to control the temp is to attach the UTH to a rheostat or a thermostat (which you can buy at most pet stores). fumble around with the controls until the UTH is emitting about 90-92 degrees of heat.
