A letter to All New Jersey Herpers,
The NJHS will be holding an update and interest meeting on Saturday April 30th at 11:00am. The meeting will be held at the Monmouth County Library in Manalapan New Jersey. This will be our first meeting in over a year so we will focus primarily on the society's current status and updates to the way the society has been and will be functioning. I'd like to encourage all current NJHS members as well as interested herpers to attend the meeting.
Regarding the society’s current status: Danny Mendez (Current Past President) put it best by his reply to a question on what was going on with the society: "Due to a largely apathetic response, the society is no longer functioning." That's pretty much where we're at as of today. We still have our New Jersey Non-Profit status and our website (that hasn’t been updated in well over a year) but that’s about it. I’m currently working on a reorganization and revitalization plan for the society but please remember to be patient. The website is in need of major updates and that takes time. The website as well as the new focus and structure of the society will be in place no later than by our meeting in April. While I appreciate the fiery rhetoric concerning our anticipated regrouping, running into the process will get us nowhere. We need to go back into the reorganization with our eyes “WIDE” open. With that said, please understand that until we really get back up and running, I might need more that two days to answer posts on forums (Kingsnake included). The society currently has an e-mail group (expressly for members of the society) that I answer e-mail questions on everyday. I do not check every forum on the internet (even Kingsnake)everyday, so if you have a question regarding the society, please e-mail me at president@njhsonline.com. I look forward to your anticipated enthusiasm and most importantly, your anticipated participation in the future of the NJHS.

Best regards,
Robert Sposato
President, New Jersey Herp Society.
