Uhhhhhh ... use a higher wattage bulb?

Try a 25 watt. I have my tank setup with a 25 watt incandescent bulb in a reflector dome at the top of the tank. It's a red bulb that is on for 24 hours. It keeps the temps in the 80s near the top of the tank, and in the 70s for the rest. The tank is 24" tall.

During the day I have full-spectrum fluorescent bulb the is on about 12 hours. It's mainly for the live plants.
