I walked into the local petsmart about 2 hours ago to look at the reptiles i looked at all the frogs and lizards and turtles then i looked at what my favorite thing to lookat was THE LEOPARD GECKO's i was just looking and i saw something a little strange i asked a person who worked there to open it up and let me see it what i saw shocked me i saw a leopard gecko that was bigger than i have ever seen one i compared it to the geckos in its cage they didnt even come close o the size

Anyways i just wanna know if this is unusal or rare and if it is should i go back up there and buy it (which is what im gonna end up doing anyways)

there are "giant" gecko strains, but i have never heard of one of these rare creatures ending up at a petsmart. i know you can obtain them from specialized breeders for a handsome price though. actually, right now im rather puzzled; unless giant leos have significantly dropped in price and are now available to the everyday hobbyist (which is possible because I havent been following the "leo scene" too closely in the past year or two).
as for buying the animal...do the routine check before you buy. make sure the facilities are adequate and clean and that the other animals in the tank are healthy. then ask to personally inspect your chosen gecko. if you decide to buy, then quarantine it from your other animals. yada yada yada.
