Hi Chris,

Due to the high humidity requirments that prasinus animals require, a screen enclosure would be worthless, and would most likely lead to the demise of the animal, as it would dehydrate quite rapidly unless the ambient humidity of the room you're keeping them in is 80%, in which that case, the sheetrock on the walls would turn to mush, and there would be mold and mildew growing everywhere.

While there are many different acceptable types of enclosures you can use, I would steer clear of screen/mesh/open topped enclosures. Humidity is an absolute requirement for these animals, and a screen/mesh enclosure would do nothing to retain help retain it.

I use enclosures which are made up of white tileboard and a large acryclic front-opening door. I do not have any ventilation/screening in the enclosure. This helps keep the necessary humidity in. As for ventilation, the animals get enough fresh air/ventilation when I service them/feed them each day. Of course the enclosure is not sealed like a refrigerator, and there is a fair amount of gas exchange through the door... But as for screenig/mesh, I do not have any.

I hope this helps a bit, you can view many different people's tree monitor enclosures in the photogallery located at the link below. Good luck, have a great day!

Cheers,
Bob
