Hi guys, Just wondering what YOUR favorite rat snake is? Please post pics of them if you have 'em!

Give me any of the subspecies of Pantherophis obsoletus (Elaphe obsoleta). I have Blacks, Yellows, Grays, Texans, and an Everglade. I even have a Gulf Hammock (an intermediary form of Gray Rat with stripes) that I got from Terry Parks. I love them all. They are all just wonderful snakes.

I know this'll bore some of you to death, but I like the plain old black rats. Don't get me wrong, I like the other rat snakes, too, I just love blacks. It's probably because they are what got me into snakes in the first place. Insofar as pics, even though I'm sure no one needs one of a black rat, mine are kind of bad, but this is the best one. Quoting my post below, "I caught this guy literally right outside my front door, and gave him to my girl. She named him Virgil Nero Columbo, after the poet, the dictator, and the Lieutenant respectively." He's bigger now, but we're without digital camera, so. . .

It's hard for me to pick a favorite, but blacks are the only native ratsnakes here.

While I love my black rats and Japanese rats to death (can I cheat and have a faavourite from either hemisphere?) I'd have to say my Western glossy snakes are catching up fast. They've got the outgoing curiousity of a black ratsnake in a very pituophis little body (love the thick black tongues), and the multicoloured scales are beautiful.

Yeah, i mean ANY kind of rat let it be from china, japan europe whatever.

Of all the snakes I have I like the South Korean dione, Chinese twin-spots, and Great Plains ratsnakes as the best pets...

Bairds Rat Snakes are my favorite rat snakes.
I have had quite a few black rats, I have a yellow rat and a couple of everglades but bairdis are definitely my favorite.
I will post a few pics along with apologies to those who have seen these pics before.
