i dont leave crickets in my leo tanks because they tend to annoy the animals. when i got my first gecko, i used to leave the bugs in overnight, and they would crawl all over the poor thing. i got worried that they would bite her, so i stopped leaving them in overnight. instead, try pinching off their jumping legs and placing them in a smooth ceramic feeding dish which they can't climb out of.

I don't suggest it. I've seen too many instances where people have done that and come back the next morning (especially with the big guys) and found dead eyeless reptiles. It's safer to take them out at night. Crickets are nocturnal and very active at night time, and they can attack smaller reptiles, like your juv leos.

Just to be on the safe side . . . my opinion anyways.

Crickets have a tendancy to bite leos in their sleep, which may or may not cause infections later on. I usually throw one or two crickets in at a time during the day,so I can keep an eye on them. Whatever isn't eaten gets taken out.
