Hi everyone,
Today I got a pair of rough earth earth snakes from Mike Fedzen. They are some of the most gentle snakes I have ever held, and are simply colored, but still beautiful. I set them up in a 2.5 gal glass aquarium w/ moist soil, uth, some bark, rocks, fake plant and water dish.
I also threw some worms in with them, and am really surprised at their habits. I thought they'd just burrow right down into the soil, but so far I have not seen them burrowing at all. They are moving all around the surface. In fact, they really seem to want to climb up a tree or something!
One of them shed its skin in one piece already, and the other is definately gravid. When she came, she was big as a house. She is really big, and if I am correct about her being gravid, it seems like she'll have the offspring VERY soon!
I hope that their life spans are long; I want these little guys to be around a long time.
Thanks a lot, Mike!
