Snow/Blizzard... Is there a difference?

princessmichiru Mar 05, 2005 08:46 PM

I would like to know what the difference is between a snow and a blizzard morph. I always thought they were the same thing but recently stumbled across one that was labeled as a snow at a pet store.

A snow leo is a leo with the black spots, but instead of yellow, it's white. Blizzards are completly white

two different things- the blizzard trait is the product of simple mendelian dom/rec genetics, and traditional snow morphs are leopards that have been selectively bred to have a white background. there is also a newer 'super snow' morphs that is genetically controlled, but unlikely to end up in pet stores for years.

check out albeysreptiles.com for examples of snows (go to 'best of' pages), and prehistoricpets.com for examples of blizzards.
