Hey
My crickets haven't been dying like that, but they have been committing suicide in my WTF's water dishes. I lost ten crickets in three days. I dont know what to do about it. Do you have food for your crickets when they arent in with your frog. i feed my crickets something called Flukers Cricket Quencher. it fills them up with vitams for my froggy. Also, i have dusted my crickets and they died in my little cricket container, i think i just added a little bit too much dust. if i remember correctly, they breath through their legs and if that gets blocked off they will slowly stop moving and then just die. try dusting less and feeding them in their own container to give them more longevity. ive got some crickets that are such good hiders that they have been in with my froggy almost as long as ive had the frog, which isnt very long, but i think its because i feed them the flukers stuff. email me back if you want to talk more about this

When I feed my WTF, I do one of two things:

1) If it's mealworms, I put them in a bowl in his enclosure. He finds them and eats them.

2) If it's crickets or nightcrawlers, which can get out of the bowl and hide in the substrate, I put the frog and the food in a plastic box with a lid. I wait 20-30 minutes, and then put the frog bag in its enclosure. Only add one or two food items at a time so the frog isn't overwhelmed.

Sometimes I feed him by hand, especially with things like wax worms which don't move around much.

So, in other words, I don't let the insects roam free in the enclosure. You know what happens.

I've had that happen too. What was going on in my case was the crix were dying of old age,now I usually only get crix with no wings, that way they will live longer.
Sometimes they are just sickly and alot of petstores don't feed or keep them warm enough.

Some dusts kill crickets after a few minutes. I use Rep-Cal Herptivite and it doesn't kill them. The crickets will usually just clean themselves off if left uneaten. Then the cricket ends up molting within 24 hours and becomes a noisy cricket.
