How do you feed your boa so it dosn't accosiate your hand w/ food. I heard they develop a feeding response. Thank You

I handle my snakes daily so I guess I should be fine.

My Boa has a very aggressive feed response but is the tamest and calmest snake otherwise..I always handle her before I feed her. I put the rat in the cage while she is out so when I put her back in her food is already there..She never sees my hand with food in it ever. Her rats magically appear in her cage while shes out havin fun..
If you use your hand to put the rat in be sure to wash off the rat smell before you go pick up your snake again to put her back(though you prob. already know this)..Anyway just a suggestion

Thank You. Sounds like a good plan. I was putting the food in a bag then sending the snake in, but I 'll try your way.

Sounds like you have the handling part down.
It is my belief that if you own snakes you must own a snake hook and 18" feeding tongs. This is how you protect yourself from getting bit. If your boa is acting agressive or hungry.....A snake hook will let them know it is not feeding time.
I can't stress these items enough.
Hope this helps,
John
