Does Petco sell frogs that are caught in the wild or frogs that are bred in captivity? If anyone knows it would be of much use to me. I bought one WTF from them and it died a couple weeks later. It seemed fine and dandy and ate crickets and such. I bought another one and s/he has been goin on strong for a month, but recently started acting goofy, plus all of my crickets commit suicide, which is sad and brings me to another question. When can i feed my frog something like mealworms? He is about 1.5" long and not very fat at all. Ive been trying my hardest to make him/her a fatty but it hasnt worked. Please help make my frog as fat as that wabo frog that bluetubeoddosey has!!!!

Your frog looks like it has good weight. Waxworms will fatten up a frog, but they don't contain much else

I know where Petco gets most of its reptiles from, and they are HIGHLY reputable! I am not sure if Petco gets their tree frogs from there, but I've had good luck with Petco's frogs.

I agree that your frog looks healthy. What I do to keep my crix from drowning is I put a small rock in the water bowl so they can climb out of the water if they fall in.You can also get a small glass or plastic bowl (I like clear glass) bury it in the substrate so the edge is level with the dirt, pull the hopper legs off the crix and put them in the bowl. They won't be able to get out and no little bug bodies in the tank to clean up.

Thanks for the tips man, Im just a little confused on what you mean about the crix... Should I pull off their legs and put them in a seperate dish? Also, what do you use for subtrate? I had that reptile liner, the green stuff, but now I use paper towling so I know that all of the poop is out of there. I change it about once a week. Thanks again!

Only pull off their big back legs, the ones they use to hop with, that way they can't jump out of the dish. But since you use papertowel you probably don't need to feed out of a dish.
I mixed my own substrate, equal parts bed-a-beast,coco chunks and leaf litter plus a small amount of sand/soil.I got the basic recipe from

but keep in mind that I have a 75 gallon heavly planted vivarium and the substrate I use wouldn't be the best choice for a WTF.The papertowels are wonderful for young WTF,once he gets older you can use straight bed-a-beast.Also you shouldn't try to make you frog fat,its isn't healthy for any animal to be over weight,if you ever see a picture of a WTF with folds over its eyes then its way too heavy.
