Nat'l Audubon Societies "Gator-Gum" Yellow ratsnake picture

guttersnacks Mar 06, 2005 01:01 PM

I cant help but keep thinking about that screaming lime yellow ratsnake picture in the Audubons Feild Guide to Reptiles and Amphibians. I'd reference the plate # or page, but Im at work right now. The color on that snake reminds of the gum flavors that Gatorade came out with many years back. PHEW that stuff was bitter!!
I wanna know if anyone has EVER seen anything else like that, or was it just an adjusted picture? IF they're out there, I gotta have one!!!!

I've seen greenish rats close to that, but not quite the lime green you are talking. I've got the guide also(who doesn't..lol). I've actually been breed a large male of mine that's actually very yellow, and would probably pass a yellow, except his bands are brownish on a straw yellow background that has balck speckling in his yellow. I've been breeding him to another LTC female that's very classic greenish....hoping to get some wonderfull greenishes that are pure strain. But the search continues for the "lime" monster...

Here's one of the darker specimens that I've seen around...
