Infertile females

mike777777 Mar 06, 2005 02:03 PM

Hi. I have been trying to breed a female crested for about 3 months. She didnt lay eggs with the first male that I paired her with so I put a different male in with her and still there is not sign of eggs. I have seen her "getting it on" with both males yet, after 3-4 weeks there is still no sign of eggs. And my husbandry is up to code aswell. Is it possible that this female is unable to produce eggs? Thanks for reading. Any input will be appreciated.

Don´t panic, for my pair of cresties it took nearly 6 months before she started to produce eggs. They both were adult when I put them together but still it took quite a long time before she lay eggs.I was 100% sure that my female is infertile but I was wrong...now they are making many many eggs for me
So you just have to be patiend.

It is possible or she might not be old enough yet. How much does she weigh and has she been gaining weight. My first-timers usually take a little longer gestation period than normal and sometimes they only lay one egg. GOOD LUCK
