Hi,
I posted this question a while ago in the softshell forums but never got a reply so I figure I'd try something here. My hatchling Florida softshell has been growing and eating well for over a year now. Just a few months ago, I realize he seems to be shriveling up....as if his muscle isn't keeping up with his shell and bones. There are bony protrusions that are jutting out on both sides of his shell--basically, he looks like a kite, rather than an oval. It could be his ribs protruding and the lower end carapace is flimsy as well. He doesn't look like he's got any fungus spots nor ulcers. Is this some kind of MBD or calcium deficiency (eating mostly Reptomin and has access to artificial UVB)? His appetite has been good until recently, so I'm kinda worried and stumped. I've transferred him to a quarantine tank for now. Thanks.
Johnny
