I want to get a B/W tegu

I want to get one of these facinating little guys. i have had savannah monitors in the past. is there any really good care sheets out there that i should knwo about. and is there anything i should know before hand about these guys. I have done my fair share of reaserch though. mainly at www.agamainternational.com.please help me make a good choise.

Also male or female?

Well, if you check out Bert's site, that is probably one of the best sources on Black & Whites! Regarding male or female. This is a matter of individual choice. I have numerous males and females in each species, from B/Ws to reds, to blues, to even golds. The rule of thumb has been that males tend to be more laxed and easier to "tame." However, I believe this is stereotypcial. I have had some awesome personal female tegus.
One aspect is female to male size and what you are seeking. B/W males typically run around 4' and around 14lbs, while females are roughly 6"-8" shorter and go approx. 5-7 lbs lighter. Both are awesome creatures.
