More often then not I hear of Hondurans starting to breed after the female shed a second time, sometimes even a 3rd. I couldn't resist trying the male after the first last year but they did not do much at all......but after the second shed they got busy almost immediately. Tom Stevens
I was checking out my males and I placed a female in with one of them. The male was very interested but the female was not and this was before the first shed. I have 2 females that are blue and I will try and see what happens after the first shed.

I recently put my male & female together after the female shed for the first time out of brumation....I saw them laying together but not much action.
Do you guys/gals feed your Hondos while you are trying to breed them? If so, is it better to feed them more sparingly?

I feed my females every 4 days and as much as they want medium size meals. The males every other feeding. As soon as the males knows that the females are ready to breed they almost always stop eating until the breeding season is over. Remember that the females needs to develop her eggs and she needs lots of calcium for them. I use Miner all for indoor animals every other feeding and only during breeding time. This is what I do and it works for me.
God Luck
