Cage Requirements & Places To Get Them (Inexpensively)???

Dan6971 Mar 07, 2005 11:44 AM

I am close to getting a baby JCP (after they are born) and I was wondering how to work the cage situation...?

I can't put a baby in an 80 gallon tank, so what should I put it in, for how long, and when do I put it in something bigger?

Do babies want trees to climb on?

Also, what dimension cage should I get for an adult (or close to adult)? Where can I get a cage that's not $700 and is glass, which opens in the front?

Thank you to everyone that will help me (and others that may have the same questions)...

A baby JCP would be fine in a 10 gallon tank, so long as you keep the heat and humidity in proper ranges. Babies will appreciate trees to climb on. As far as housing for an adult JCP, I'd take a look at cages from Vision, the Boaphile, and Animal Plastics. You should be able to find something that you like and is in your price range. Or, you can always custom build something yourself.

WOW, thanks a lot...

Do you have web addresses for those cage stores you mentioned?

Thanks!

Those cages with the netting - is it hard to see in the cages? Can a snake bite through the netting?
