There are a lot of keepers who feel that ADULT mud/musk turtles have low UV requirements. I try to provide it anyway with high quality bulbs.
Juveniles certainly should have it.
Diet should be varied and include natural items if possible along with high quality commercial pellets. Provide several different types.
Don't skimp on care---do MORE than you think you should. While a lot of snakes can be kept in little shoeboxes in the dark, turtles cannot.
