Not eating since coming out of brumation.

Passport Mar 07, 2005 06:41 PM

I have a trio of Chihuahua Mountain Kings. I brumated all three this year and hope to breed them. Only one of them will accept a mouse offering at feeding time. The pair that I acquired last summer just aren't interested in eating. I did probe them and confident that they are a pair. I can understand the male not eating but can't figure out why the female won't eat either. Close examination shows no RI and their bodies are plump and healthy appearing. This kind of messes up my program for breeding them. Any suggestions?

I beleive Mtn Kings are more sensitive to the season and are not fooled by temps. Its a protection thing for this mountain species. Put them back down and bring them up in April.
