aggressive trans pecos baby

mets38 Mar 07, 2005 06:58 PM

We just bought a trans pecos baby. Today when we changed his water our cat walked by and he got very upset. He started biting us and would make a hiss sound when he bit. After that he kept opening his mouth and his saliva seemed to be thick. Not much but enough that he seemed to be trying to shake it out of his mouth. Is this something normal or could something be wrong? He was very calm and didnt mind being handled until this.
Any help or info would be greatly appreciated.

sometimes respiratory infections have thickened mucous. Might be worth a trip. Make sure the vet is experienced with reptiles, though.
