breeding cresties

darkserpent213 Mar 07, 2005 07:01 PM

My male is about 3 1/2yrs. And my female is 1 yr old . Do you think it would be ok to mate them ? He's a little bigger than she. They will be kept in seprate tanks after breading.

if the male is noticably larger its probably a good sign its too early for the female. i say this not because females are larger than males but because female cresteds should be at 35g and more than a year old before breeding for best success and health. good luck, try the rhacodactylus forum for more info it is a subgroup of geckos.

thanks, my female is 35 grams but she not a yr old yet. she's 9 months ,is that normal for the weight at that age ? She's a excellent eater. Thanks again for the info.

i would say she is doing well, thats adult size, i would still wait the last three months before i started breeding her. good luck. check out the rhacodactylus forum for more info on cresteds, its a subforum of this one. you can link to it at the small list at the top.
