i am not an expert by any means, but when i pick my goldens up i just put my hand in front of them and touch there tail and usualy they just crawl up onto my hand but if that doesnt work i try to cradle them. as for the other gecko just make sure it is another golden i have read alot about not putting diferent spiecies together and it is not recomended. and make sure it is male and female. i read that even female female combonations get teritorial.

the link is to a site that has a good care sheet if you need it. dont follow my techneeks completely they are just what i have read and have picked up from haveing goldens.

sorry for the bad spelling. hope i helped.

If you are taking the gecko out just so you can maintain its cage, a good way is to put a kitchen towel over it so it can't see, then it will be less freaked out when you pick it up and you can transfer it to another container while you clean the cage or whatever. Alternatively, if there is a cork tube or similar in the cage, you can wait 'til it's inside there and then remove the whole tube.

If you are asking how you can play with your gecko so it doesn't get freaked out, I would say it's better to leave it alone. Goldens aren't really known for taking handling well, although I am sure there are exceptions out there.

As for geckos having little playmates to have "fun" with, I would venture to say that the only "fun" they are liable to have would be if one was a male and the other a female, if you catch my meaning. Even then, the female oftentimes gets beat up in the process.
