HELP!! I want to try and do this right the first time

casey31179 Mar 07, 2005 08:33 PM

I have been keeping Boas for about 10 years now bout now I want to try breeding them. I've been breeding bearded dragons and leopard geckos for about 10 years now and I'm ready for a change. What I am looking for is info on breeding the boas whether its a brief rundown of what worked for you or just a website I can go to. I've been doing some reading but it seems like everything I read is different. Please if you have a few minutes just let me know what works for you guys.

Also I am buying some cages. What is a recomended size for adults? I am looking at Boaphiles 48"x24"x11.5" Cages is this good? I have a rack system I purchased from Boaphile that I am planning on using for the babies when and if I am successful.

Thanks In advance!!!
Erin

The Boa Constrictor Manual has a lot of great info on breeding boas and caging. Everything you need to know is in that book, except for experience! Hope it goes well for you! As for caging the four foot boaphile works great for me in the off season. I like to breed them in the six footers, this has been working well for me! Take Care, Dan

Look on boaphile's website. He has a great article about breeding in there. Tons of great information.
