Interresting fact on boa constrictors living in the U.S.

RON745 Mar 07, 2005 10:54 PM

While at the American Museum of Natural History this weekend, I read in the dinosaur exhibit that 38 - 58 million years ago a series of lakes existed in the area of what is now Colorado, Utah , and Wyoming. During this time period the climate was tropical and it was here that the earliest and closest relative to today's boa constrictors was found. Just figured I'd share.

jk of course but maybe the rubber, rosy, and other burrowing boas out West decended from what used to be here. Otherwise it's a long crawl from south of the border but I guess they have had plenty of time to do so lol. Very interesting information you brought up.
