Are any of the offspring for sale? or where did you get these hybrids? I think you said Big pine key , Florida any info would be great. Also do you guys know the prob depths for baby rhinos and any tips or safty measures I should take. The babies are 4.5 months old now and are huge.I mean a good 3 to 4 times bigger than when my baby hybrids where that age.I have 8 and I am now forced to sell them. They are EATING me out of house and home and quickly out growing their cages.I also noticed that 2 where growing slower than the rest, is this normal or should I remove them from the large cage into a smaller one? Thanks for your time.

Hybrids do not grow as fast as rhinos. Robert Ehrig of Big Pine Key has some high percentage Lewisi he has advertised in the back of reptiles magazine.
I have never liked probing rhinos. The males sometimes tighten up when the probe goes in, and then you think you have a female. If is possible to probe a female and think you have a male if one pushes too hard and damages their membranes. David Blair makes it look easy. I have observed him using a sterile lube like KY jelly, the smallest size probe, and a towel. The igs will typically stay still better if held upside down while probing. The probe depth is typically twice as deep for a male as a female. I would guess 6-8mm for your males and 3-4mm for your females. I would rather let people be surprised than risk injuring. If your wrong, then people can get angry.
The hirarchy of siblings typically starts after 3 months. The dominant ones have explosive growth while the submissive stunt and barely grow at all. It would be less stressful to move the smaller ones to another enclosure.
Good luck.
