HOW CAN I TAME HER!!!

RyanDonnelly Mar 08, 2005 12:59 PM

a colleague of mine had an iguana that he was trying to get rid of an with my chameleons and my love for the little guys i understand their needs and requirements (Not that the care is the same, but the amount of it) SO i decided i would take him off his hands after i saw her environment which was not very good. She is in good health but if kept in that condition she wouldnt be for much longer. But she is not the nicest little thing in the world and i want to know how i can start to tame her. I know that animals should not be kept as pets and that if shes not nice shes not nice but when i pick her up she is just to mean she tries to whip and she scratches so i could not even get her to feed from my hand. She is very nice when i pull her out of her bath should i try hand feeding her after her bath?? If anyone has any info that might help i would be very appreciativet thanks. Ryan

WELL IF SHE IS MORE CALM IN THE BATH, THEN YOU COULD TRY TO FEED AFTER A BATH...

HOWEVER... REPTILES HAVE PRESSURE POINTS ON THEIR BODY... AND IF YOU TOUCH USUALLY THE ANIMAL WILL CALM DOWN... BUT IF SHE IS NOT HAPPY WHEN SHE IS PICKED UP THEN I WOULD DO THE PRESSURE POINTS BEFORE U TRY PICKING HER UP...

I THINK THE MOST OBVIOUS POINT IN ON THEIR THIRD EYE... IF YOU RUB THAT SHE SHOULD CALM DOWN A BIT... THE SECOND ONE IS IF YOU RUN TWO FINGERS DOWN HER BACK ALONG HER SPINE... DO THIE REALLY SLOW AND START AT THE KNECK AND GO TO ABOUT THE MIDDLE OF THE BACK... DO THIS FOR A FEW MINUTES AND SEE IF YOU GET BETTER RUSULTS...

I HAVE A PHD IN REPTILE SCIENCE AND I HAVE FOUND THAT PRESSURE POINTS WORK ON ALOT OF REPTILES, BUT NOT ALL...
THIS IS THE SAME AS SOME PEOPLE BEING NOT TICKELISH BUT SOME ARE...

WELL TRY THAT AND LET ME KNOW IF IT WORKS...
GOOD LUCK

My best and prefered dog in Brazil, a female Samoyed, around 10 years old, was killed recently by a venimous snake,a lance head, while she was in her kennel resting and playing with her puppies. My house in Brazil is full of venimous snakes and im worried with my human kids safety too. Id like to know how to prevent venimous snakes to enter my garden and what is their natural predator. Thanks for any help.I still cry when i remember my sweet Cynthia and her awful death!
