Okay guys, Very strange what do ya think?

Sindar left the corner she was in and went up to a limb. I searched and found a deflated , elongated egg, oval, big about 1 inch long. Looked like it had a hole in the end.

Even if it were inflated, it would have been very long, not round. Guess thats why it looked weird in the photo I posted the other day, it was not round and higher up than normal.

She is now back down on the bottom, buring her back end again.

I was thinking a calcium problem, but she gets that, and her last eggs layed on the limb were round but infetile.

She layed a nice round speckled one last year, but it was cracked before I retrieved it.
Point is I know most of her eggs have been round, and normal.

Why this , big long egg? Or does this happen also when infertile?

All of the inferts that I've dealt w/ have been deformed, or "deflated" as well. As long as you're sure that she's getting enough calcium....it hurts me to say this, but it may be the male's fault. It could also be environmental; what kind of temp ranges do they experience? Do you use UV? Do you brumate? Couple ideas anyway....

Well, think we are good to go, except in the brumation end. No I did not brumate them. Good point

All mine seem interested in doing is Eating, Always hunting. I have her with 2 males, that seem to get along just fine.

Hopefully, one will evenually do his thing.

Also I may do what Ben had said, and take her out of that enclosure, for awhile, THEN re-introduce her, and see what happens.

Thanks

Eve,
If you take her from the enclosure, cool the males down awhile, into the 60s... then reintroduce them at high humidity and in the upper range of their temp requirment... I would not be discouraged though, I have a female henk who is 90 grams and has calcuim deposits the size of manhattan... she still throws out a few infertiles every year... if ever a henk was to clutch 6 times, two eggs each, I would think it would be her... Could I pair her with a different male that will get the job done better?... likely, but they make nice babies so I don't... the pair has worked the past three seasons, I would hate to end it by repairing her with someone who won't get the job done AT ALL... be patient...

Good advice, I will do that. And I am patient, really, I just enjoy them, If she lays fertile eggs and I get little henks,

All the more to ENJOY!
