Am i going mad??!!??

eve_scotland Mar 08, 2005 01:33 PM

Okay i have been inucbating my second set of eggs for this year at 88 degrees for males - i decided that since i hadn't candled the eggs in a while (since the were 7 days old - they are now 34 days old) i would check on their progrees, i was candling and i could have swore that i saw the developing embryo move around??? I repeted the process and nothing? Is this my imagination or did i really see it - i thought that the embryo attaches itself to the wall of the egg - and i presumed it couldnt move?

LOL... I dont think so. I think the gecko is attached to the egg via the umbilical cord. I don't know how long the umbilical cord is, but I imagine it allows for movement. So, he could be floating around in there waving at you. (if you actually see him waving THEN you might be mad)

Just candled again and i can see him definately moving around! Wow - the miracle of life :0) getting all deep and thought provoked on myself now :0) I think i can actually make out a head and there is a dark spot which i think is its eye! Any idea how long i will be waiting until both brothers come into the world?

Thanx Evonne x

It takes about 2 months for an egg to hatch when incubating for females. I think it's a little sooner when your temps are higher, as yours are.

heeheee Yeah, the babies can move around in there. Just like when we women get pregnant, we can feel the baby moving (if you haven't been pregnant, or known someone who was, then trust me - it's a WEIRD feeling!!!!!!!!!) You ain't going crazy.. yet...
