Could someone help me with sexing rats??

pj_farmer Mar 08, 2005 04:42 PM

I just can't seem to get it right. I figured I should easily be able to tell which is a male and which is a female. Is it possible to sex them when they are young, like 4 weeks old? Any pictures or descriptions would be helpful. Thanks all!!

Males have noticeable testicles just under the tail. Although, sometimes they can kinda draw them in. IMO, the easiet way to tell a female is to look for the rows of nipples on the chest. Good Luck.

I did a bit of searching on the web and found a few pictures. I think I got it figured out.
