I have not been on here in a long time, but I need some advice. My leo, Jak, hasn't eaten anything for about the past 2 weeks, maybe a little more. I realize this could technically be do to her winter cycle/hibernation, but I keep her temps constant all year round. Also, she is about 1.5 years old and has never had a problem shedding until the past two times. The first time having a problem I was able to gently take it off, as it was just barely hanging on. However, this time it's stuck on a little better. It's on her face around her right nostrile and goes almost to her eye, and covers her "lip" on that side. What is the best way to go about removing the skin here, I want to be as gentle as possible as to not hurt her eye. Any suggestions on the fasting and the stuck skin would be much appreciated, otherwise I will be calling my vet tomorrow, thanks.

Well apparently Jak didn't like me asking for help, because she went ahead and got the stuck shed off herself, was kinda entertaining to watch her drag her nose along the top of her humid hide. But anyways, there's still the eating issue at hand. Now if I remember correctly, she did this last year about this time as well, and was just fine, but I'm just looking for a little reassurance/piece of mind. She looks healthy, hasn't lost much weight at all, is still active and requests to be takin out to play, but still just checking =)

Many geckos slow dowm and brumate during the winer months. It has to do with the length of day and how much light rather than the temps.

Yeah, I know it has to do with the light as well, but her lamp is on a timer that is the same year round. I guess the amount of light coming in through the window in my room must affect her cycle enough. Either way, thanks for the input =)
