Another Question About Fat

onenine25 Mar 08, 2005 07:27 PM

I just wanted to know... I got all my beardies with large thick tails. I have noticed that the base of the tail has been getting thinner and not staying so plump.

Feed is as follows...

Wax Worms
Dandilion Greens
T-Rex Pellets
Crickets
Romain
Collards
Turnips
Rosemary
Kale

I usually feed a salad made up of all the greens and pellets twice a day.

Then once a day i give a bowl of pellets and wax worms moistened with water.

There is always a fresh bowl of water and they are misted once a day.

The basking area is 120 at least and the other side of the tank is in the 80's

They are Juvi's ... what am I doing wrong?

Any info helps - Thanks

leave out the waxworms and lower the basking temp by about 5-10F. 120F is a little high even for juvie's . Feed crickets, silkworms or butter worms (or roaches if you can get them) twice a day and salad once a day till they are over 8 months old, th en cut down to one insect feeding a day. Once they are over a year old you can drop to insects 2-3 times a week. Salads should be offered every day especially in adulthood.

Rosemary and romaine should be offered everyday. The rest are good for every day salads.
