Spring is not just in my herp room. . .

althea Mar 08, 2005 09:22 PM

While doing some yard work over the week end, I moved a brick and found a rough earth snake gorging itself on a cluster of slugs. Who needs first spring robins when there are
snakes? (LOL) Can't wait for spring herping to be here in earnest! Who else has spied their first post-winter herp? I'm in southwest Tennessee.

regards,
althea

Ooooooh! It was so cool! Driving along, stomped on the brakes and found a little garter snake, probably only 20" long if that! Purty yellow stripes, golden eyes and little red tongue. Chased it off the road, man, it was cool seeing the little guy wriggle away! Little shining ribbon.
Oh, northern California by the way.

That's okay. When we're roasting in August, feel free to make fun of us.

Unfortunatly, we roast in August too. Stupid temperate climate, winters are -40 and summers are 40.... too extreme!
