Keith...a pic of two of my largest getula

Sean Mar 08, 2005 09:45 PM

Just got my snakes out of hibernation this past week and both of these males look like they did before they went down for the winter. The Eastern measured about 62 inches and I think the Apalachicola may be a bit longer but I haven't got a measurement on him yet.

Yeah, he's a big one. I don't think Len fed him enough because he's always hungry! He's got the length as the Eastern in the pic but I feel he should be much thicker...we'll see in a couple of months.

The Eastern is about 62 inches. I think the Apalachicola is about the same or even longer. I'll get a measurement on him soon. When you coming up? The last weekend in March I'll be camping up in GA.

Did you say before the Krysko Appalachicola was a wild caught?

Sean Mar 10, 2005 01:38 PM

And yes, that Apalachicola is a wild caught.

Hmmmm...get down here to the ANF and help me find a WC female to pair up with my two WC males. Pierson has a male WC we found two years ago along with the female I got from Len Krysko. He's going to attempt to breed those this year.

You know in all the time I was in Florida I never made it up there. I think it is the stigma of not being able to find any Goini 9 out of 10 times that killed it for me every time. I had areas further east that produced more snakes to the time hunted so I stayed out of that area. Than last year a buddy told me that he a some friends found 12 EDBs and 6 copper heads in the same spot in two trips so I was gonna go this year to end my EDB curse (never found a live one) and I ended up moving to Chicago.
I am taking a trip to Texas this year and maybe next year I will meet up with you. I would love to find a Goini in the wild. By the way I can't believe you split up that pair you got from Len. I was at his table talking about my South Florida Mole Kings with him when you picked them up. I was kinda pissed cuz he just told me that he was getting rid of them and I was trying to act uninterested when he told me that you already work something out for them. LOL That one looks way better than when they where there. What you do put a foot of growth on him!!! Good job
Later Jason
