I bought Rep-cal Herptivite with beta carotene multivitamins and Rep-Cal phosphorus free calcium with Vit.D3. Are these safe for dart frogs? If not what do you reccommend? Also what should I look for (or not look for)in supplements?

hi mate,
I do beleive that you have to be careful not to over do the D3 in dart frogs.

With supplements you also need to be aware of the ratio of vitamin A to D3 to E as well as the calcium to phosphorus ratio. Over supplementation of any of the above vitamins can lead to various problems as can undersupplementing them. To date there has been no data produced on what the recommended daily allowance for amphibians consists of.
In general it depends on the frequency at which the animals are being fed. I would typically recommend in animals fed daily to alternate dusting with a vitamin/mineral supplement with a calcium carbonate only supplement. If they are fed less than three times a week, then I would suggest using the vitamin/mineral supplement at each feeding.
