recently when it comes to hydration. i make 2 sprays a day and make sure it stays humid in its lil critter keeper. it's got a paper towel on the bottom, a tiny bit of moss fiber on top of that, then plenty of lil sticks to climb around on. been feeding tiny crix and drosophila hydei. body weight isnt really an issue with the lil bugger, just that the tail has been curled for the 2nd time today when i woke up. first time was probably about 4 or 5 days ago, but his condition shot back up after some pedialyte. i could use some advice from anyone else who has dealt with hatchlings on this one...would like to get rid of this problem if i could.

anyway, here's a shot from today.

i had this same problem happen recently and i didnt do nothing extra or different.one of my first hatchlings of the year had this happen while the other didnt so i just figured it was the weaker one of the two ,he turned out ok. i just made sure to keep the humidity up and him hydrated, but just about the same as i do the adults.

I don't know if you saw my post a while back but I had this exact same problem with my hatcling pietschmanni except to a much greater extent. Their tails were just like sticks. I found that no matter how much I misted it didn't help them but when I increased their cage temperature their tails flattened out again.

just keep misting it alot. that works for me also when i had that problem with my newest hathcling. one question for you all of my male babys have a white line and the leafy tail all of my females , if they have a kind of a leafy tail dont have the white line under their eyes so could that new one be a female? I hope it is because she is lookingmore and more like a very pretty girl/boy? dont worry to much just keep doing what you are doing.

Like I said b4 as well, this has heppened with my henk babys... in such a case, I manually "unfold" the tail... most will disagree with this approach, but I have had no problems... It takes a steady hand and patience... I use only my index finger and thumb and gently "unroll" the tail... More than likely the problem will fix itself though...

well, honestly ill keep my fingers crossed that its a female, but it seems as though very few females have notches in their tails. as for the white stripes, i talked to jason recently about that, and while it does seem to work sometimes, it's by no means a definite answer to what sex you're gonna have. i have males with and males without it. females tend to the white stripe less often than males, in my opinion, but that just goes for what ive inspected. a lot of females tend to have much less bold white stripes than males, but yet again ive seen males in the very same condition. only time will tell....
