Hello,
I have a fairly large water bowl for my iguana, but everytime I wake up in the morning, I find that my little friend has left some little terds in the water dish.
Does anyone know why this is?

It is normal. Igs prefer to defecate in water.. just gonna have to start scrubbing the bowl more.
yep! it actually makes things a little easier in my case. my iguanas go in large kitty litter pans filled with water. every day i dump the dirty water down the toilet, wash , and refill.

Very normal. My ig is literally toilet trained, and it was 10x easier than training the dog. What you can do is give him another tub of water. They usually won't drink from the bowl they poop in.

Hahahaa..that's a good way of thinking of it. Thanks!
I started putting mine in the bathtub and that is where he would do his deed. Then I built him a big cage. I put a big kitty litter box in the cage with a small aquarium heater under that. generally the water is pretty warm. That is where he always (99%) doeas his deed. It is so much easier than cleaning the cage (although I still do, just not nearly as often).
Before he does his deed in there, I have noticed him drinking out of it. So I put a SMALL water dish next to his food for him to drink out of. It is all working out great.
