100watt standard GE halogen floodlight?? ok for my monitor??
The answer is:
(LxWxH)-(L-W)-(Ac) (Hu/Ve) (radAbs).......
I don't really remember the entire formula. It's based on the size of the enclosure, the amount of heat able to escape from the top, how close the monitor can get to the bulb, how reflective or absorbant the cage's interior is, how humid the inside vs. outside air is, when compared to the monitors prefered amb and bask temperatures are.
The easiest way is to set up the cage and get a temp gun/thermometer and check what the amb/bask temps are...
If the amb is too low its better to use multiple bulbs rather then increasing wattage. If the amb is fine but the basking isn't but an object under the lamp that absorbs heat or brings the monitor closer to the lamp.

my main concern is if that type of bulb will hurt the monitor
It doesnt matter what kind of bulb you use. What temp are you aiming for on the surface? You can basically get any temp you want using any bulb by raising the bulb up or down or raisins the surface youre measuring. Get with it turkey.
i appreciate it lol i just wanted to make sure the bulb wouldnt hurt my monitor
Nah dont worry it wont hurt it unless it burns the monitor itself or starts a fire.
if it has a clear diamond , hexagon, or circle center then change it. Those things suck and have burnt alot of monitors.
If it doesn't then you can try it out. Noone knows what your cage might need, we can tell you what we use but it might not work for you. You still need to test it out and take temps..
I use 45 watt and 65 watt incandescent indoor flood bulbs, and 50 watt outdoor flood bulbs. Placed close enough to give me a basking surface temp. of 130-160. If I use high wattage bulbs here in Fl. with my setups the ambients get to high.
