Burm Weezing?? Thoughts....

Circusfan Mar 09, 2005 10:22 PM

Hi everyone. My Albino Burm started acted funny tonight. She has been just fine, but tonight I noticed some very loud weezing. She has temps of 90-95 on the hot end and approx. 80 on the other. The humidity is around 50%. any thoughts on why she would be weezing? There is nothing coming out from her nose and she does not breath with her mouth open. ??

Thanks.

Temps and humidity sound good, but generally the weezing is the beginning of an upper R.I., I'd make an appt. for the vet so you can start on a few shots of baytril and catch it in the early stages. Goodluck. Also do you a source of heat at night, if so what are the temps?

Thanks a lot. I'll call the vet office in a few minutes. They just opened about five minutes ago. Her night time temps are 85 on the hot side and 75 on the cool.

Just got back form the vet with "Honey" and she does have an RI. I was given the proper antibiotics and the vet is sure she'll be just fine. Just thought I would let you all know she has been taken to see the vet and I will do whatever it takes to get her health back to normal.

Thanks. The way I look at it is, these animals depend on us to help them. I know if I was in their situation I would appreciate the help. As resposible keepers we owe it to our animals to keep them happy and healthy. Otherwise, why do we have them?
