How many days after post ov shed till...

EGGS.This is so exciting.fingers crossed for pastels 2200 gram female and 3200 gram female.What would be the average number of eggs from these females They are over 5years old and never been breed before?

Kevin,

On average females lay eggs 27 to 30 days after post-ovulation shed (pre-lay shed).

It's hard to say just how many eggs they will lay. I would estimate 6 - 7 for the smaller one and 7 - 9 for the bigger one. I never set my sites too high. I'd rather be surprised than disappointed. In some cases you can actually count the eggs in the female if you drap her down in a relaxed fashion.

Last year I had one laying in a coil and I could count the eggs as she lay there. The problem is that I am a finger counter. You know...I pont my finger close to the object I am counting and as I'm counting her eggs real close like...1...2...3...WHACK! She nailed me like a bad thing! LOL! Not one of my brightest moves!!!

So warning. If you are a finger counter...don't do that!
