I have 2 earlier versions of this. They both work just fine. Compared to a regular thermometer, and at the accuracy level we need (within 1 degree I think) they are definitely the way to go. Instead of hanging thermometers all over a cage you can just carry this one around and get quick readings whenever you want.

I agree they are great! I have the PE-2 and it works wonders. You have the option of checking the Min. and Max. Temps at a seconds notice.
