BEFORE THE EGGS HATCH

Kyle05 Jul 08, 2003 05:56 PM

Ok, so my clutch of eggs is starting to get the dents in the eggs. At least one is real noticeable. So is the dent always on the top, or can it be on the sides too? Because a couple eggs are slightly dented but on the sides of the eggs. I am assuming it is because they are not hydrated as well, or have any of you seen this happen there too. And I am also assuming when the eggs dent this is because the dragon has poked a hole somewhere on it and it has lost pressure? Whats the time frame after they dent that the heads start poking out of the egg? This is my frist clutch of eggs to hatch so I just have a few questions on it. Hopefully some one can help me out before this post is buried in pictures! Let me know what you think. Thanks!
Kyle

Usually you can see a slit when they pip and start to dent. Also you can usually see some fluid coming from the slit. It can range from an hour to two days before they come out of the egg so can't give you a specific on that one. Just check for a slit and fluid. If you don't see either and it's happening to more than one egg, I'd start looking at moisture levels.

Let us know what happens.

I have had babies hatch out of the side before and the top. If the eggs are deflating and turning a yellow color they may be going bad. I would check the temps and like joel said the moisture levels. Hope this helps.

peace,
nathan
