amozon fight while breeding?please help

nysnakeguy Mar 10, 2005 06:47 PM

My amozon pair where breeding well and I was very exited. After a couple of weeks together on and off I saw them wraped in a tight ball. I separated them and saw the female had maltiple bites on her neck and the males hed (was in the middle of the ball) had been badly squeesed. His jaw is not closing rite so my vet said its probably temporary nerve damage. WHAT HAPPEND? CAN THEY EVER BE TOGETHER AGAIN?

This may sound silly but, are you sure you have a male and a female? Usually only males will bite eachother. Did you feed them while they were together? This could be another reason for the aggression. Amazon pairs generally don't display agression towards eachother outside of any accidents...

Make 100% sure you have a pair.
