Any Hypo Breeders Have any Babies like this???

DavidKendrick Mar 10, 2005 08:48 PM

I was curious if any of you hypo breeders have had any babies look like this, And have them turn out nice as adults? This Is het for Ghost, I was just curious what you hypo experts thought of her. At first I thought she might not be a hypo, but after looking at her more closely she is a hypo. Just not like the hypos I am used to seeing. Any Imput or comments would be great. I guess I will see what she turns out like as an adult. Thanks.
David

She is dark, and not as Salmony as I am used too, But We will see. Let me know what you think, I will have her pair with an anery male in a few years. You think she will make nice Ghosts, or is she too dark? What do you think?

She has potential.. She looks about the same grade my female looked when I got her..
This is when I got her and she was already over a year old (nice and drab. No bright colors and nothing special other then her genetics)

and now at 3 years old.

She is very Beautiful, The Hypo and the dog, My wife says she had one like her/him. They make good dogs. Your Hypo sure did explode with color and turn out beautiful. I will just have to see what happens with her. Thanks for the reply, and the pics.

Hey David, you have an awesome looking hypo there. I don't know what you look for in a hypo, but that one looks great! Take care Andy

I guess I have seen to many that have the more Salmony color to them. I got her cause I knew the breeder and he had bred a Rich Ihle Super Salmon, to a Huge female Anery. When I recieved her, I wasn't sure what to think, I didn't know if because she was double het ghost that she was so dark? or what, I don't know what I was expecting, But her dark head, Dark bowties, and darker red tail kinda threw me for a sec. Here is a picture of my first Hypo and the male anery that will be her mate in the future. I guess it will be interesting to see what kind of Ghosts will be produced, that is if I am sucessful. I guess there is a WIDE range of hypos out there. Thanks for the reply.

Dave, you do know that you're not going to get ghosts the first time around don't you? You're going to have to produce DH ghost babies, raise them up, and then breed the hets. Nowadays a nice pair of DH ghosts isn't really all that much more expensive than picking up a hypo and an anery. I don't think I'd have the patience to go that route. I'd prefer to skip a generation. BTW if that's the world's ugliest hypo you owe your breeder friend an apology because I think it's nice.

The Hypo in the first post, She is Hypo Het for Ghost, and the Hypo in the pic with the anery is my first hypo I have ever gotten. The Hypo in the first post, and the anery in the second post is the pair. So I am hoping that With her I will be able to produce some ghosts, I was just wondering because she is so dark what kind of ghosts would be produced. The Hypo in with the anery, is going to be bred to my Albino Male, Eventually, years down the road I want to produce Triple hets for snow, What an amazing thing, To one day come home and see- Hypos, Ghosts,Anery's, Albinos, sunglows, and Snows, all mixed in the same litter. That would be such a sight.
