Heating recommendations?

EZD Mar 11, 2005 01:41 AM

Hey guys I have a question for all of you. I was curious what kind of heating lamps/lights all of you would recommend?

I use a Zoo Med 150 watt bulb...I also have a heat strip on the bottom of the tank...ironically, my Ball Python hardle hangs out on the warm side of the tank...he and my corn snake love the upside down shoe box.

I use a UTH (under tank heater). It's a heating mat or pad that sticks to the bottom of the tank, and in most peoples opinion is the best way to provide heat and most use less energy than heating with a bulb. I also have a blacklight bulb that comes on at 10pm just before the flourescent light goes out. However it's mainly there for night time lighting in case I want to watch the snake roam around. The heat emmitted isn't much.

Under-tank-heaters work much better for BP's than a light's do. If you can, switch now.
