Not a Ball I know, but what is it???

krystal19_85 Jul 08, 2003 06:18 PM

My boyfriend works for a lawn care/Landscaping company and he almost ran over this little guy with the mower. The little guy (for now I am claaing him lil' guy) is missing the tip of his tail and looks like he is pretty banged up. He decided to rinse out a Dr. Pepper bottle and bring him home to me for some Rehab! I think he is adorible, but man is he mean! He is probably 6"-7" but he acts like he is a mean @$$ retic! He is a cutie forr sure. I made him a little enclosure and he washed a chunk of infection off of his tail in the pop bottle and now has filtered clean water. I guess I would be mean if I got attacked by who knows what, almost ran over by something a bazillion times my size, put in a pop bottle, and fliped all over the place all day, then ended up somewhere I have NO CLUE where I am and there is giants and a giant dog looking at me I would be a little nippy too! LOL I REALLY want to know what kind of snake he is, any ideas???

The flat marble things kinda give you a size reference.

It looks like an abbherent pattern of the common garter snake. I'm not sure though, sorry.

My boyfriend keeps saying it is a water moccison (sp?) and if it bites me it has enough venom to make me sick... LOL ... but I don't think it is venomous, just a little cranky. I hope I can get a definite answer soon though, I would really like to know.

A northern water snake. It may possibly be an inter grade, but it's nonvenemous and they can make excellent captives. It will thrive on a diet of appropriate sized fish, tadpoles or frogs and should grow rather quickly. We hope this helps.
