Me again Aplaxar....
The best way for any of us to help you here on the forum is if you can post a pic...
If you cannot post a pic you could email it to me and I will post it for you...
Now a days a common or classic looking Mexmex will have a light grey to dark grey ground color with light red to maroon squarish looking saddles that may or maynot reach the ventrals. Another characteristic that is classic to Mexmex is a stripe just behind the head (neuchal stripe). And yet another distinguishing marker on a classic looking Mexmex is a tri dot pattern on the head or something similar......There is also a common "black spot" behind the eye of a mexmex. As everyone knows there will be exceptions to these characteristics but for the "most" part I have described a common or "classic" looking Mexicana mexicana.

There are many different phases of Mexmex. Here they are:
classic
splitband
dark
speckled
brown
light/white
and combinations of the above.

As for thayeri...they come in a wide array of colors from white to bright yellows and oranges.
But again show me a pic and I will tell you what you have....
Hope this helps,
John Lassiter

Here is a shot of some Mexmex variation:
